They found that graduates in majors closely aligned with specific career fields often experience higher earnings and lower unemployment, especially when their occupations align with their studies.

After successfully completing anchor testing today, TS Lone Star State is headed south toward its homeport in Galveston! Arriving on Tuesday, Sept. 8, the ship will begin transit of Bolivar Roads Channel at approximately 9 a.m. and arrive at the Galveston Campus at approximately 10 a.m. We’ve mapped out the best public viewing spots in Galveston for you and hope you’ll share your videos and photos with us as we celebrate this milestone.

Next up on our #TAMUpete Summer Student Spotlight is Mason Gubser! 

This summer, Mason worked as a drilling intern for Oxy! 

"I spent the summer working in the Midland Basin Unit where I completed a case study evaluating the value of Oxy's first-ever Midland Basin U-turn wells could bring to the asset," Mason said. "This experience was especially meaningful because of the amount of time I spent on the rig. Being in the field gave me a strong operational foundation and directly supported the technical work behind my project."
