@tamuartmuseum

Artist Du Chau’s work, “Foundations,”

Artist Du Chau’s work, “Foundations,” features rows of porcelain doves that descend in quiet succession, gradually shifting from larger forms to smaller ones. Their alignment creates a column resembling a spine slowly unfolding into air, evoking breath, memory and lineage.

Through this delicate arrangement, Du Chau explores how love and devotion become foundations we lean on, while grief settles into the spaces between. Each dove carries the echo of care passed down through generations, reflecting how one act of love can support another and how each life becomes part of something greater.
