Stepping out of your comfort zone and embracing the unexpected can completely redefine your future. For Mario Milian ‘26, a last-minute decision to apply for a program just 36 hours before the deadline ended up shaping his entire college experience.

As a non-traditional student, Milian arrived at Texas A&M University as a prior-enlisted veteran, balancing his academics with raising a young son alongside his wife. He arrived with plans to finish his finance degree from the Adam C. Sinn '00 Department of Finance as quickly as possibly and immediately return to the military as an officer.

Instead, he found new community and pathways through the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and high-impact programs at Mays.
