Camp ARCH Celebrates 20 Years of Inspiring Future Aggies in the Built World

Our PPIP interns had the privilege of meeting Dr. Michael Johnson and former PPIP interns on Monday evening for a wonderful dinner at Capitol Hill Club.

Texas A&M Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management students helped run one of the biggest events in sports this summer. Throughout the FIFA World Cup, our students worked roles in Dallas and Houston, from match-day stadium operations to paid internships running ticketing and VIP hospitality at Houston's FIFA Fan Festival.

Meet new Former Student Brandt Japhet '26! As a #tamuMEEN student with a passion for Combustion Propulsion and energetics, he was an undergraduate researcher in the Fluid Mixing in Extreme Conditions Laboratory (FMECL) with Dr. Jacob McFarland and conducted research on multiphase detonations and hypersonic droplet breakup. 

Brandt was a 2024 Texas Research Alliance (TRA) for Clean Energy scholar. Last year, he presented his work at the AIAA SciTech Forum in Orlando, Florida, and a poster at the 40th International Symposium on Combustion in Milan, Italy The Combustion Institute

We are proud of our students Josh Gryder, Lane Shaw, Kaden Hall and Emilio Iuvone, who competed as 12th Man Builders at this year’s TXAPA Asphalt Road-eo.

They presented their knowledge of asphalt production and paving processes to industry professionals. The team placed second in interviews, fourth in skid resistance and sixth overall out of 14 teams. Great work!

Texas A&M Department of Biology is proud to spotlight undergraduate researcher Sonrisa Jones, a senior microbiology major in Dr. Joe Sorg's bacterial pathogenesis laboratory.

Jones recently presented her research, "Application of Click Display Technology for Rapid Protein Binder Discovery," at the Anaerobe Conference in New York City. Her project introduces a tool with applications well beyond the lab's usual focus on Clostridioides difficile, drawing interest from researchers across multiple fields.

In partnership with UT Houston and Little York Fire Department, EnMed students participated in a mass casualty incident (MCI) simulation, triaging and treating the wounded in a real-world scenario.

MCALLEN, July 15, 2026 — The Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen (HECM) has selected Will Wynn ’84 as executive director, effective Monday, July 13, 2026.

Congratulations to our Dr. Chukwuzubelu Ufodike on being named the 2025-2026 Professional Technologist of the Year by the NSBE Professionals | National Society of Black Engineers.

The award recognizes Dr. Ufodike's technical achievement, professional impact, mentorship and service in the areas of AI-enhanced additive manufacturing, digital manufacturing, engineering education, mentorship and STEM pipeline development.

Isabella Chapa '27, a BBA student in Mays Department of Management with a focus in entrepreneurship, is spending her summer as a sponsorships and events intern with Lucchese Bootmaker. Chapa took extra initiative to earn the role, connecting with Lucchese employees on LinkedIn and even mailing a personal pitch letter.
